Introducing PET NET: Empowering Citizens in Serbia's Energy Transition
We are pleased to introduce PET NET, a dynamic and inclusive network that brings together local leaders, policymakers, academics, and energy experts who share a commitment to advancing citizen energy initiatives and promoting energy democratization in Serbia.
Last week announced the successful completion of PET NET’s inaugural meeting held in Pirot. This event marked a significant milestone, fostering meaningful discussions on the network’s expectations, roles, and structure and establishing a foundation for future cooperation. Over the coming months, we will continue to refine these concepts in collaboration with our partners and members, ensuring that PET NET evolves into a central platform for innovation and connectivity.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Heinrich Böll Stiftung (HBS) for their invaluable support, which made this pivotal event possible.
What is PET NET?
PET NET serves as a safe space for dialogue, learning, and collaboration, bridging gaps between stakeholders to:
Facilitate knowledge-sharing on community energy.
Support joint planning and project implementation.
Enhance awareness of the transformative potential of energy democratization.
Drawing on both practical experience and academic expertise, PET NET acts as a Knowledge Hub on energy transition, empowering communities and supporting marginalized groups affected by energy poverty.
Our Mission: To equip members with the knowledge and tools necessary to actively support and champion local energy initiatives, paving the way for a sustainable and inclusive energy future in Serbia.
We invite all stakeholders to join us in shaping the future of energy democracy. Together, we can foster meaningful change, the journey has just begun!
