EU Espresso Training: Empowering Local Energy Leaders

Last week, we had the opportunity to present the key features, objectives, and structure of the EU Espresso training to local energy leaders and representatives of local administrations in Serbia. This initiative aims to empower communities with practical knowledge and tools to drive energy transformation at the local level.

The EU Espresso training comprises self-paced e-learning courses designed to support cities and municipalities in building robust energy communities. The training covers essential topics such as:

  • Understanding energy communities: Insights into how cities can establish and support energy communities.

  • Financing and co-investment: Exploring modes of financing, co-investment opportunities, and innovative approaches to funding energy projects.

  • Facilitating stakeholder dialogues: Methods to foster collaboration and dialogue among various stakeholders.

  • Utilizing municipal assets: Practical guidance on how municipalities can provide access to their assets for energy projects.

Multi-Language Availability

The training, supported by Energy Cities, is currently offered in multiple languages to make it accessible to a diverse audience. At present, PET offers the following modules:

  • Basics of Energy Communities (available in Serbian)

  • Access to Municipal Assets (available in Croatian)
