PET is a leading Serbian energy and climate think tank from Niš - dedicated to advance the energy transition and environmental protection.

PET works to democratize energy by bridging the gap between policy and people. Our core focus is to empower Serbian citizens by increasing their participation and influence in the transition process.

‍ ‍

Citizens' energy is a key driver of a just energy transition.

PET Montenegro.

Big Ideas,
Real Impact.

Our work in Montenegro goes beyond energy alone.

It connects environmental protection, education and community development - because a just transition is measured in cleaner air and healthier ecosystems as much as in kilowatts, and it starts with people who understand what is possible.

PET Montenegro, headquartered in Cetinje, brings the platform's academic expertise and on-the-ground experience to support municipalities, citizens and institutions - and opens new opportunities for regional cooperation and European LIFE-funded climate initiatives.

  • Provide and disseminate high-level expertise, innovative operational models, and systemic solutions that promote the principles of a just energy transition

  • Build resilient national, cross-border and regional networks to encourage, promote and affirm citizens' energy through the establishment of energy cooperatives and communities

  • Serve as the strategic bridge for connecting local governance with major regional and international actors and initiatives, funds and frameworks enhancing regional compliance with the Paris Agreement and the EU Green Deal.

  • Enhance energy efficiency,  usage of renewable energy sources and contribute to environmental protection in the Republic of Serbia and the Western Balkans region.
